NEW DELHI:  Chaudhary Charan Singh University has postponed the ongoing MBBS exams at the University. In a notice published on the official website, to maintain the sanctity of MBBS exams all the exams scheduled on and after February 12 have been suspended. The University will announce the dates for the exams at a later date. The exams have been suspended amidst allegations of paper leak and the University feared that the question paper may leak for further exams as well，The aim is to offer experienced the opportunity to develop the knowledge. The programme has four basic concepts underpinning the nursing profession: person, environment, health and caring.

As reported in local dailies, the question paper for MBBS Surgery II paper was scheduled on Monday but leaked the previous evening. Upon inspection, university found that the questions in the leaked paper matched with the actual question paper.

After confirming the leak, the University suspended the examination for both the sessions and eventually suspended exams which were due to happen till February 19.

Currently, board exams are also being held in Uttar Pradesh. This year, the administration has taken special measures to ensure that there are no cases of cheating and malpractices in the exam. As a result, about 10 lakh students dropped out of the exams in the first week itself. Reportedly, more than 66 lakh students had registered for the board exams this year including both class 10 and 12 students，Another aspect associated with such is – data security threats. Lacking basic measures like a firewall or integrated antivirus system.

Full-time, part-time, online, or a mix of all three – the variety of postgraduate study options can be bewildering. This wide choice, however, does give scope to suit prospective students’ differing circumstances and lifestyles .

While traditional campus-based courses remain the most popular, there is an increasing interest in online study, with its flexibility and easy access. Edinburgh University’s head of submissions, Iain Sutherland, says that online courses are proving particularly attractive to those students who may have family and work commitments.

As with most universities, he says, advice is available on Edinburgh’s website: “We have a postgraduate recruitment team to help and run postgraduate open days, along with online sessions to give people an overview of what the courses involve .”

Manchester University’s head of distance learning operations, Ian Hutt, says that online postgraduate courses take between two and a half to five years to complete. “Each module runs over 10 weeks and we like people to commit about 15 hours a week to study. We have study advisers to help people schedule their time.”

And if a course dovetails with what they’ve done before, he says, “it can work well – especially as many come with experience and renewed vigour from previous learning”.

Matt Broadway-Horner preferred the campus option and, after searching for a full-time postgraduate course that would accredit him as a psychotherapist, enrolled at Goldsmiths, University of London. “The full-time course required one full day per week of teaching and supervision in a class, plus one clinical morning. It made my week rather tight, but that kept me focused on getting the assignments done on time .”

It’s proved very beneficial as Broadway-Horner recently returned to Goldsmiths in a teaching and scholarly position, and has authored books and research on the LGBT experience, particularly sexual and mental health, and the ageing process.

Alternatively, part-time study in class, while demanding, allows students to keep working while they study. Mother of two girls, Jan Noble, opted for this route, so she could maintain her job, but also enjoy interaction with other students.

“I was in my mid-40s and working as a nurse manager in a hospice. I went into King’s College London to do a part-time master’s in advanced nursing practice in palliative care,” she says. “I was very privileged, as funding was arranged by my employer. However, if I left within two years after completion, I would have had to pay a percentage back,Reckoned as one of the top design universities with diversity of programmes, polyu fashion and textile, as well as applied science programme, which is committed to be a hub for innovative design education in Hong Kong.

“It was quite an effort – while my friends were going out, I stayed in and studied for three years. But it’s made a huge difference to my life and career.”

This vegetarian tart recipe was inspired by the madness of moving. A little over two weeks before we move (with a 10 day vacation to Colorado in there) and I’m starting to get into ‘OMG WE HAVE SO MUCH SH*T’ mode. Okay, to be real, I have so much sh*t and it starts with the kitchen – two blenders, really? Four bottles of vanilla extract? A freezer full of unidentifiable leftover soups and stews HKUE ENG? I’ve managed to accumulate an awful lot of unnecessarily junk within the three years we’ve lived in this house and somehow have to sort through it in the 7 evenings I have free between now and when our new lease starts.

With all that being said, I’ve found the easiest (although not the fastest) solution so far in the kitchen as been to eat my way through it. A perfect example of this is this tart – I came across an unopened box of puff pastry in the freezer and decided to top it with all the leftover veggies that I could find in the crisper cloupor. The sauce was inspired by an unopened roasted red pepper jar that has been hidden in the very back of our way-too-tall-for-me pantry cabinet (a jar that I most likely had inspirational ideas for at one point but it got lost in the mix somehow).

The reason I had a tart on my mind to begin with is because my Ma had made a delicious vegetarian tart when we went up north for a wedding a few weeks back horizon. She actually (which is totally genius) topped the veggies with the puff pastry halfway through the baking process and then just flipped the tart before serving. I wanted to add a sauce to mine so I decided not to go that route but a great concept to keep in mind when wanting to whip a tart up with even less fuss.

Also, and I know this might ruin this recipe for you, I have to giggle when I think of any sort of vegetarian tart like this. Maybe it’s just me but I got dragged to a lot of make-up and Tupperware parties when I was little that my friends’ moms would put on and the ‘organizer’ would always come with 2 recipe cards that were always the same: a light and refreshing punch and a veggie pizza that was made with frozen puff pastry, cream cheese, and already chopped raw veggies (broccoli, carrots, and bell peppers). I can’t help but think of all those really corny parties whenever I whip up a tart out of frozen puff pastry (anyone else? Or is that just me? Maybe I ran in a weird crowd growing up or maybe it’s just a weird freaking Midwest America thing).

The best part about this recipe is it’s all about using up the abundance of your garden and any leftover vegetable / herb scraps you have on hand so feel free to follow this recipe very loosely and swap in whatever you are feeling. Another great thing about this recipe is that it’s beyond simple – the instructions are easy to follow and the prepping is quick which is perfect for these dog days of summer that were meant to be enjoyed on your porch with a G&T and magazine. You could even substitute the spread for store-bought hummus if you don’t feel like getting your blender dirty.

I am endlessly fascinated by America’s Test Kitchen’s magazines and cookbooks. I love that they detail the process of recipe development and not just, “Hey, here’s a recipe! It tastes good! Enjoy!” While baking is more of a science than cooking, there is still a science to cooking and it’s interesting to read exactly why frozen peas are better than fresh for most recipes or how different types of potatoes result in different textures in gratins.

The Complete Vegetarian Cookbook is exactly what you’d expect from an America’s Test Kitchen cookbook. The recipes are tried and true and each starts out with a paragraph explaining why it works. There are 700 recipes in this book (YES! Seven-hundred!) and they range from dishes that are naturally meatless, like this polenta casserole, and dishes that are traditionally made with meat, made vegetarian (we’ll be sharing one of those recipes next week). There are cookbooks based on gimmicks and trends that you buy, make a few recipes from, and set aside, and there are cookbooks that you’ll be cooking from 20 years from now—this is the kind of cookbook that’s destined to be a staple in your kitchen.

I received an advance copy of the book several weeks ago, so I’ve already had the chance to make quite a few recipes from it and this polenta casserole is one of my favorites. It tops a batch of creamy Parmesan polenta with a layer of meaty mushrooms and chard cooked in tomato sauce. The thing I love about polenta casseroles is that while they’re filling and hearty and everything you love about comfort food, they’re actually not that heavy—eating a serving of this casserole doesn’t make you feel uncomfortably full and weighed down like eating a serving of lasagna might. I should also note that we had this for dinner 3 nights in a row; the leftovers kept well in the fridge and they were just as delicious as the first day I made it. While the recipe does take a little bit of time that first day, the subsequent days of leftovers (woo hoo, no cooking!) made up for it.

I get tired of traditional lasagna, because more often then not I don’t really want to eat the meat (ground beef) in the recipe.  Traditional lasagna is generally noodles, tomato sauce, ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, and ground beef.  This gets boring.  I have tried some vegetable lasagna recipes in the past, but I didn’t love them hong kong homes for rent.

This month since I am sharing squash recipes I tried to create a lasagna using squash.  When this blog was just getting started a made a homemade ravioli using delicata squash. The squash was mixed with mascarpone cheese, which was a great combination.  I did the same thing here.  The result was delicious if I do say so myself!  Back when I posted the ravioli recipe I had not discovered any recipe plug ins and my photos were just taken with my Iphone! Someday I will go back and redo that post kangertech box mod.

This recipe does have a few steps and is best prepared when you have some time.  A weekend afternoon when you are home would be the best time.  I roasted the butternut squash first, which could take about an hour to do.  The other steps can be started before the butternut squash is finished though .

I wanted to add another color to the lasagna since I was using a cheese sauce.  I decided on spinach.  I thought it would be the best choice and it works well.  I sauteed the spinach in a bit of garlic and olive oil.  This does not take long, so definitely wait until the squash is just about finished.  You can cook the lasagna noodles around the same time as you cook the spinach.

I gave each vegetable their own layer.  The squash is mashed just with a potato masher.  The mascopone cheese is then mixed into the squash.  I spinkled some mozzarella and parmesan cheese on top then added the next layer of lasagna noodles.  Of course there is a base of sauce and lasagna noodles in the pan below the squash.  The spinach and ricotta layer is next, followed by the top layer of noodles.

I baked the lasagna until the cheese melted and the sauce was bubbly.  The colors of the vegetables are beautiful.  I may never eat traditional lasagna again.

There’s a lot going on in that title. I know. Forgive me. I’m trying to shove all the fruits I’ve been eating lately into something I can drink. And when I say eat I really mean grill.

This time it was for the folks over at Serious Eats; they enjoy a good grilled fruit drink every once in awhile. One life altering aspect of this drink, besides telling people you own and have used a bottle of cachaça, is that you get to grill cherries. I’m sure you’re reading that sentence and going… and? No, but really, have you done this before? Have you experienced these awesome morsels that have somehow gotten transformed on the grill from just yum into the intoxicatingly rich, smoky, sweet bites? Do yourself a favor and grill a bunch of these, not just for the drink, and then while you’re sipping your cocktail, pop these in your mouth. By the handful. Also, I’m grilling lime wheels, which is sorta covering up the fact that I’m still finding sad, sad limes at the store

Oh! So let’s talk about the cachaça for a second. Cachaça is the national spirit of Brazil and is a very close cousin of rum. In fact, we could just call them siblings. The only major difference, if we’re generalizing here, is that cachaça does not have to be aged, unlike rum which needs to be aged to some degree. It’s distilled from fresh sugarcane, like rhum agricole and has that funky aspect in the flavor profile. For this recipe we’re actually using aged cachaça, so if you just can’t get your hands on that, substitute a golden rum like Flor de Caña 12 Year (I tried both versions and quite frankly, am a fan of both for this drink).

Briosele acestea sunt usor de preparat, contin ingrediente simple dar gustoase si sunt suficient de consistente pentru a va potoli foamea atunci cand sunteti “pe fuga”. Asa ca, daca ramaneti si voi fara inspiratie sau nu aveti timp sa pregatiti o masa sofisticata, urmati reteta de mai jos si adaugati langa briose o bucata de branza si un pahar de vin rosu – nu puteti da gres!

It sounded rather unbelievable isnt? I cannot believe why I even attempted this. A fusion between Asian and French sound super enticing as I lied on my bed thinking of my next bake. Yes, I dreamt abt it. Just like how I used to dream about currency. Two top loves of my life. My mind cannot accomodate much more.

Anyhow, I wonder if its possible to make macarons with glutinous rice. I thought about it. Its tough because nuts and rice are two very different animals. One is high in fats while the other one is hardly  fatty at all. Nevetheless, I  thrived on satisfying the curiousity.

I attempted 3 times using black glutinous rice. First 2 trays are ruined because of the temperature. One cracked almost as soon as I placed the tray into the oven but showed even feets after it completed the bake. The other cracked and showed uneven feet by splitting one side up 10 minutes into it.

The lighter one is the first tray attempt while the darker one has not have the chance to bake through since I took it out after seeing the uneven split.

A few weeks ago, I published this Potato Salad with Avocado recipe. It was a big success and I received a few messages from my readers saying that they thought they shouldn’t  eat potatoes because of the high glycemic index. They were happy to know that baby potatoes have lower glycemic index and are considered medium GI .

So I decided to share with you one more recipe using baby potatoes.

Don’t be intimidated by the long cooking instructions. This recipe is really easy to make – it’s just  layers of potatoes, salmon, asparagus and eggs. Very healthy and filling.

This dish is perfect for a weekend brunch and you can also take it to work next day for a an easy lunch.

Baby potatoes and asparagus are in season in spring so why not to use them now that they are available in abundance National research center.

Almost all of my memories in life have a food link. Taste ripples beneath the surface of my history. Is that weird? My husband thinks it’s totally weird Managed UTM.

I have very distinct memories about brunch. They are all from trips to America. Any light, bright, fresh brunch takes me to another time and place there. It makes me think of California sunshine and New England mornings. The Americans do brunch so well don’t they?
So, the sun was shining here this morning and I decided to take breakfast up a notch from our usual Cheerios flung across the table. I put this little meal together and enjoyed my foodie daydreams Hong Kong work visa.

A couple of weeks ago the lovely people at the Maille Mustard Boutique sent me the most beautifully packaged mustards to try. Yes, it’s an online boutique. Yes, for mustard. The packaging is achingly beautiful, it felt like receiving jewels (I imagine). (The photo is on my Instagram feed if you fancy a look.)
These little oven baked rosti, hash brown type things are really something special. Simple but so effective. G&H loved them, they are crunchy and feel a bit naughty = perfect toddler food. They’d also made really impressive chunky canapes, topped with little pieces of salmon and dressing.
You could make extra and freeze them, crisping them in the oven after defrosting.

I have to say, the big hunk of butter that goes into these rosti makes my heart ache a bit. But I’ve tried it without and sadly they don’t quite crisp as much. You could omit the butter and use an oil spray to spray the pan, they will just be a little bit more tricky to get out and not quite as golden and luscious.
In this recipe I used this Mustard with White Wine, Dill and Lime and also this Wholegrain Mustard with Chardonnay.

I am so excited for strawberry season to be starting again! I was not a fan of strawberries when I was younger, but have really grown to love them (still warming up to other berries). These Strawberry Cheesecake Parfaits were one of the first recipes on my list to make with the new influx of strawberries in my weekly CSA box. There is a little prep work to create the different layers of the parfait, but they can be made ahead of time. The work was definitely worth it. This is a new favorite for me and Chad Alexander Hera.

I made the crumble first. Flour, sugar, butter, oats, and almonds are combined, baked, then crumbled before storing in an airtight container. The macerated strawberries are made next and stored in the refrigerator. I prepared the cheesecake filling last and this can also be stored in the refrigerator. Don’t assemble the parfaits until right before serving. This recipe makes six parfaits, so Chad, Evan, and I enjoyed these as nightly desserts for nearly 2 days external sound card.

The crumble can be made a couple of days ahead of time, but I don’t recommend making the cheesecake or macerated strawberries any longer than a day ahead. I love ‘em. I had a buy one get one free Nutella! Take that, expensive hazelnut spread. I was reading the label and I noticed that it said, “made with 48 hazelnuts per jar.” Really? Couldn’t you just put two more in for an even 50 IWB?
